Hard to believe this is the same actress, but it is. Pamela Tiffin made her first Hollywood films as a brunette. Her breakthrough film was Billy Wilder’s 1961 comedy, “One, Two, Three” (1961) in which she played scatterbrained southern heiress “Scarlett Hazeltine” opposite James Cagney.
The roles that followed resulted in little more than ingenue roles and in 1965 after being cast as Marcello Mastroianni’s blonde sex-pot wife in the Italian sex-comedy “Oggi, Domani, Dopodomani she fled an unhappy first marriage to New York magazine founder Clay Felker and moved to Rome where she starred in a string of Italian comedies and giallos.
She returned to the States for roles in the 1967 Broadway revival of “Dinner at Eight” and Harold Clurman’s 1969 production of “Uncle Vanya” at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
She remained (for the most part) a blonde and in 1974 she retired from show business after marrying philosopher Edmondo Danon, son of Italian movie producer Marcello Danon (“La Cage Aux Folles”). She has two daughters, Echo and Aurora and lives in New York City.
